Buddhism in the Modern World | Introductory Talk

Join us for an introductory talk and meditation including the main practice used in nearly 700 Diamond Way Buddhist groups and centers around the world. This session is geared toward those new to meditation and Buddhism.

The lecture is free and open to the public, and it will be given by John Christopherson, a Diamond Way Buddhist teacher.

John Christopherson was a searching idealist, originally from Medford, Wisconsin, when he became a student of Lama Ole Nydahl in 1999. In 2006, Lama Ole asked John to teach, and he has since been invited to centers throughout the Americas, Europe and Russia. John works as an elementary school teacher and lives in town with his wife Madelyn.


The Diamond Way Buddhist Center of Madison belongs to an international, non-profit network of nearly 700 lay groups and centers of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. The Diamond Way centers have been founded by Lama Ole Nydahl and Hannah Nydahl and are under the spiritual guidance of H.H. the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje.
