About the teachers:
In 1992, Maike and Pit Weigelt both took Buddhist refuge. In 1997, Lama Ole Nydahl asked them to travel around the world as Diamond Way teachers. Since then, their lecture tours have taken them across Europe, Russia, North and South America. Being former school teachers, they have been providing Buddhist teaching materials as well as offering advanced training in Buddhism for teachers in Germany. They edit and translate books for Lama Ole and for the magazine,
“Buddhism Today.” In 2009, they moved from Northern Germany to Immenstadt to support the Europe Center, the big international Buddhist center, in Southern Germany. Maike and Pit are parents of three adult children and have three grandchildren.
Diamond Way Buddhist Center of Minneapolis belongs to an international non-profit network of over 700 lay Diamond Way Buddhist centers of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, founded by Lama Ole Nydahl and under the spiritual guidance of H.H. the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje.
Diamond Way Buddhism offers practical and effective methods to realize mind’s inherent richness for the benefit of all. With an accessible and modern style, it works with people’s confidence and desire, using every situation in life to develop fearlessness and joy. We always present a basic introduction for newcomers, and the meditations are guided in English.
For more than a millennium, the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism has transmitted some of the most powerful meditation methods Buddhism has to offer. Today, these transformative approaches are available in Diamond Way Buddhist centers throughout the Western world.
