Practical Buddhism - An Introduction into the Diamond Way (3 pm)

Where: Madison
When: Saturday July 22
Time: 3 pm - 4:30 pm

"Nothing is more important than the values by which one orients one's life. Thus from the earliest possible moment, Buddha's students convey one basic truth: Phenomena come and go and only mind is a lasting refuge. Recognizing its space is highest bliss."
- Lama Ole Nydahl, The Way Things Are

LECTURE DESCRIPTION

Learn about the basic ideas of Buddhism and get an introduction into the expedient methods that Buddha gave, which we now call the "Diamond Way" (or Vajrayana). There will be time for Q&A, and you'll get a chance to experience the main meditation practice used in our 700 groups and centers around the world.

This lecture will be given by Chason Geister, a Diamond Way Buddhist teacher from Denver, and is part of a weekend meditation program:

MEET CHASON

Chason is originally from Darien, Wisconsin and was a UW-Madison undergrad and varsity wrestler before becoming a student of Lama Ole Nydahl in 2000. He later earned a master's degree in Eastern Classics from St. John's College in Sante Fe, New Mexico.

In 2007, Lama Ole asked Chason to teach in our centers, and ever since he's shared his insights throughout the US and as far away as Russia. For 17 years and counting, Chason has supported Diamond Way centers in Madison, Whitewater, Santa Fe, and now Denver. He is also one of the main caretakers of Dakini Ranch, a Diamond Way retreat land in Colorado.

In each and every lecture, Chason brings together a unique style of boisterous humor, intellectual knowledge and vast life experience.

Chason currently lives in Denver with his wife Olga and their two children and is also a manager at an award-winning landscaping company.
